Had my first appointment on Tuesday. Mostly just a lot of questions about family history. Did find out, though, that I'm spilling ketones. I had the flu pretty bad this weekend and they said this may be what caused it. They wanted to send me to the hospital for IV fluids that day but then decided to have me just try to drink fluids and come back in for a re-check today. When I went in today, though, they found I'm still spilling ketones so this afternoon I have to go to the hospital for two and a half hours of infusion therapy. Not looking forward to that, but they said I should feel much, much better when it is all done.
On a happy note, we had our first ultrasound today! The baby is soooo tiny -- only about 1 inch from head to rump. And the hearbeat is so fast! We both were so excited to see our baby for the first time -- and it even "waved" at us! (okay, I know it wasn't really waving but it was enough for me to tear up a little). :)
We got a CD of photos from the ultrasound so we can share them with everyone here! The first one is pretty obvious, the second is showing the heartbeat, and the third is showing the blood moving in the baby. So cool!
